ROBERT L. "BOB" BURRELL

BIOGRAPHY

Bob has spent over half of his life in the Morgan County District Attorney's Office.  He is in his 20th year as the elected District Attorney and served as an assistant for eight years prior to that.

Before coming to Morgan County, Bob graduated from the Cumberland School of Law in 1977.  Bob finished his undergraduate work at the University of Georgia after his graduation from the public school system in Rome, Georgia, where he was born and raised.

His three children were born in Morgan County and finished school in Hartselle.

Bob has been active in serving the community in a variety of positions.  He has served as President of:

Bob has been recognized by:

  • The Decatur Exchange Club as Law Enforcement Officer of the Year.
  • The Alabama Chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Drivers and the Alabama Attorney General's Office for the highest DUI conviction rate in Alabama (the "Golden Gloves" Award).

He is a Rotarian and a member of the Alabama, Georgia and American Bar Associations.  Bob is also a member of the United States Supreme Court Bar.
