THE MORGAN COUNTY CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER, INC.

Our Goals

• To provide a "child-friendly" facility where victims of child abuse can go to seek the assistance of law enforcement and other professional services.
• To effectively and accurately preserve testimonial and physical evidence of child abuse for investigation and criminal prosecution where appropriate.
• To reduce the number of interviews that children in Morgan County are subjected to in furtherance of investigations and for the provision of social services where child abuse has occurred.
• To provide multidisciplinary assistance to victims of child abuse and their non-offending family members.
• To heighten the awareness and increase the skill levels of our local law enforcement, medical and counseling community with regard to issues concerning child abuse.
• To educate our community in all matters related to child physical and sexual abuse and exploitation.

A WORK IN PROGRESS

The Morgan County Child Advocacy Center is indeed a work in progress.    At this time, the Board of Directors has attained  §501(c)(3) approval from the Internal Revenue Service conferring nonprofit organization status on the center.  The center is also an associate member of the Alabama Network of Children's Advocacy Centers.  The Morgan County Child Advocacy Center has a facility located at 425 E. Moulton Street, Decatur, AL 35601.  The center's web address is: www.morgancountycac.org.
