Paul J. Matthews has served as the Chief Assistant District Attorney for the 8th Judicial Circuit and is currently employed by the Morgan County District Attorney's Office on a part-time basis. His primary responsibility is to prosecute Class A felonies. Paul's civil practice is located in the City of Decatur. He can be contacted there by e-mail. Paul Matthews was named Chief Assistant District Attorney in 1985 and held that position from 1988 until his status changed to part time in 2006. Paul is a former or present member of the following organizations: Decatur Jaycees, Board of Directors for United Cerebral Palsy of the Tennessee Valley, Administrative Board (Chairman) of the First United Methodist Church of Hartselle, Young Lawyer Section of the Morgan County Bar Association (President) and the Fraternal Order of Police.
